Colorado Hat DIY

I'm loving my state this week after multiple trips to the mountains.  If you love Colorado too, you can make a hat to show your Colorado pride!






You will need:
-Worsted weight yarn in Blue, Red, Yellow, and White
-H hook
-Your Color Changing Skills

In Blue, 
Ch 4.
Join in a small circle by sl st into the first ch.

Row 1: Ch 1. Sc 7 times into the loop made by the ch 4. Join with sl st. (7 sc)

Row 2: Ch 1. 2 Sc into each Sc of previous row (increases made). Join with sl st. (14 Sc)

Row 3: Ch 1. *1 Sc into first Sc. 2 Sc into next Sc (increase made). Repeat from * 6 more times. Join with sl st. (21 Sc)

Row 4: Ch 1. *1 Sc in each of the next 2 Sc of previous row. 2 Sc into next Sc (increase made). Repeat from * 6 more times. Join with sl st. (28 Sc)

Row 5: Ch 1. *1 Sc in each of the next 3 Sc of previous row. 2 Sc into next Sc (increase made). Repeat from * 6 more times. Join with sl st. (35 Sc)

Row 6: Ch 1. *1 Sc in each of next 4 Sc of previous row. 2 Sc into next sc (increase made). Repeat from * 6 more times. Join with sl st. (42 sc)

Row 7: Ch 1. *1 Sc in each of next 5 Sc of previous row. 2 Sc into next sc (increase made). Repeat from * 6 more times. Join with sl st. (49 sc)

Row 8: Ch 1. *1 Sc in each of next 6 Sc of previous row. 2 Sc into next sc (increase made). Repeat from * 6 more times. Join with sl st. (56 sc)

Row 9: Ch 1. *1 Sc in each of next 7 Sc of previous row. 2 Sc into next sc (increase made). Repeat from * 6 more times. Join with sl st. (63 sc)

Row 10: Ch 1. *1 Sc in each of next 8 Sc of previous row. 2 Sc into next sc (increase made). Repeat from * 6 more times. Join with sl st. (70 sc)


Row 11: Ch 1. *1 Sc in each of nex 9 Sc of previous row. 2 Sc into next sc (increase made). Repeat from * 6 more times. Join with sl st. (77 sc)

Row 12: Ch 1. *1 Sc in each of nex 10 Sc of previous row. 2 Sc into next sc (increase made). Repeat from * 6 more times. Join with sl st. (84 sc)

Row 13-17: Ch 1. 1 Sc in each sc around (no increases made). Join with sl st. (84 Sc)



Join Red.
Row 18:  In Blue, Ch 1.  In Blue, 1 sc in each of the next 5 sc.  In Red, 1 sc in each of the next 5 sc.  In Blue, 1 sc in each sc for the rest of the stitches around.  Join with sl st.


Row 19:  In Blue, Ch 1.  In Blue, 1 sc in each of the next 4 sc.  In Red, 1 sc in each of the next 7 sc.  In Blue, 1 sc in each sc the rest of the way around.  Join with sl st.


Cut Blue and add White and Yellow.
Row 20:  In White, Ch 1.  In White, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sc.  In Red, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sc.  In Yellow, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sc.  In Red, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sc.  In White, 1 sc in each sc of previous row around.  Join with sl st.


Row 21:  In White, Ch 1.  In White, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sc.  In Red, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sc.  In Yellow, 1 sc in each of the next 5 sc.  In White, 1 sc in each remaining sc around.  Join with a sl st.


Row 22 and 23:  As Row 21.

Row 24:  As Row 20.

Cut Yellow and White, and join Blue.
Row 25:  As Row 19.

Row 26:  As Row 18.

Cut Red.
The rest of the hat as Row 13.  Until it measures the length you like.

Cut, bind off, weave in ends, and love Colorado.
